When you say what a drag in any other city you probably mean something that is not much fun. But, when you use that term in New Orleans, it has a whole new meaning that is the total opposite of meaning something that’s a dud. Here it conjures up colorful visions of fashion and fantasy as we are referring to our fabulous drag queens and their amazing shows that grace the stages of several bars in the French Quarter. Every weekend we have late night drag shows and even Sunday drag bingo shows so that you can watch the performers sashay while you’re sipping mimosas. Legendary Drag Queen Bianca Del Rio is a New Orleans native and got her start here. While the clubs are primarily gay bars they do welcome bachelorette groups with open arms. Some places have shows all weekend while some only host performers on Sunday afternoons. Here are our top recommendations for you and your krewe to choose from while you’re here. And remember to bring lots of single dollar bills to tip the performers. It is customary to show appreciation with dollar bills.
